The bridge Dom-Luís

The bridge Dom-Luís is the most known and also one of oldest of the city of Porto; this bridge crosses over Douro and connects the city of Vila Nova de Gaia with the city of Porto. It was built between 1881 and 1886 by the Society de Willebroeck (belgian company) and by the engineer Teófilo Seyrig, a follower of Gustave Eiffel. It was inaugurated on October 31st, 1886 by king of Portugal Dom Luís I.
